Halloween

Today was Halloween. First we went to group for E.I. at a local elementary school.

Emma stood right there for at least 5 minutes not even moving

Then we sung a song with witch hats and fingers

Later in the evening we went to the trunk-or-treat at our ward building. The kids actually did pretty good. They liked holding their buckets and we hardly had to hold them at all. Emma, after a while would even pick the candy out of the bucket herself. Sometimes Conner would say thank-you and they said trick-or-treat a few times but never to the people.

People thought our costumes were pretty cool. If you can't tell we were a family of s'mores.

After the trunk-or-treat we had our dinner. I made hot dog mummies. They tasted fine but didn't look so hot.

Checking out their spoils

After we ate dinner we went trick-or-treating. I think I was more excited for it then Eric or the kids. The kids actually had a lot of fun, Emma more so than Conner. She loved just running from house to house. She of course never said anything to the people but I think she had a lot of fun. She even held her bucket pretty much the whole time and didn't really want me to hold it.

Checking out their other spoils

While we were out trick-or-treating Conner was running down a driveway and he couldn't stop so he tripped and fell and because of his marshmallow costume he kept rolling forward and he skinned his nose.

One of their favorite things they got from the night were these toothbrushes

Here are the kids with their costumes. 'Aulani's bear was the campfire

31 Months

The kids are another month older! Here are some new things they have done this past month

Both:
- Say yogurt (sho-gut)
- Like watching Curious George (when they say George it sounds like they are saying it with a French accent)
- They like Wreck it Ralph (Wreck It) and Lilo and Stitch
- They know most colors
- Like to play Ring Around the Rosy

Emma:
- Signs and says "hot"
- Knows what "The Friend" magazine is
- orange (o-nan)
- Says naughty when Conner is being naughty
- Likes to yell out "wake up!" when I get her out of her nap
- Asks "Where go?" and holds out her hands
- Likes to zip and unzip her pjs

Conner:
- He'll start saying the alphabet and he can go from H to R
- He'll randomly start counting too and can go from 1-10 and sometimes he'll forget 7 and sometimes he'll repeat 8 and 9 a few times
- When we're watching a show or movie and someone is getting hit or there is some sort of action like that then he'll make these noises that go along with it
- I asked him where 'Aulani was and he said "Right there" (pointing to the picture wall in the living room)
- Can say almost the whole alphabet
- Knows a lot of shapes: square, rectangle, diamond, circle, oval, dome, crescent, heart, star, and almond

NICU Visit

Today we went to the NICU to show off the kids' Halloween costumes to the nurses and doctors there.

Here's Conner (marshmallow) and Emma (chocolate bar) in the lobby waiting to go up to the NICU

My little chocolate bar thinks she owns the place and liked running down the hall

We took another picture with all of us but we don't have it yet.

Pumpkin Farm

Today we were able to take the kids to the pumpkin patch at Black Island Farms and pick out some pumpkins. While we were waiting to get on the tractor ride Conner decided he wanted to run off. We were watching him the whole time and there were the younger boys that came up to him and asked him where his mommy was. It was pretty cute.

Running back to us

And running away again

Conner running around at the pumpkin patch. He only fell down a couple of time because the field was a little bit uneven.

He tried to pick up the pumpkin but it was too heavy

Here's a pumpkin more his size, but still a little heavy for him

They thought the tractor ride was pretty neat

Here are the kids with their pumpkins we picked out. I love Conner's smile in the second one

I tried to get a picture of them sitting down in front of the sign for the pumpkin patch but Emma definitely was not having it.
