Harry Potter Birthday

Today was Harry Potter's birthday. I made a cookie dough cake (chocolate cake, cookie dough frosting, chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate chip cookies). It was way bigger than I thought it was going to be. It was pretty good though. We also got Harry Potter, tablecloths, napkins, and plates. We didn't do much else.

Dinosaur Park

Today I took the kids to the dinosaur park. The museum was open so the kids decided they wanted to go in. If you went outside you couldn't go back in so went in first. They were pretty excited about it. Owen liked the animatronic dinosaurs. He didn't like the jewel section so much. In the museum they had a path with arrows to show which way to go. The kids liked the fossils. Once we were done inside, we went outside and did our usual thing. I had Conner and Emma pick a random number and then we'd find that corresponding dinosaur. Today went pretty good.

Gibb's Loop Trail

Today we went on another hike. We went did the Gibbs Loop Trail up in South Ogden. We weren't going to do the whole loop at first, but then we decided to. We ended up going 3.5 miles! The hike wasn't too bad. It was fairly easy and not too steep. There was a lot more shade at this one than the last one. A lot of the trail went along a golf course. The scenery was really pretty. Some of the trail was even through the city on the streets.

Once the hike was done, we went to the Burch Creek Mercantile. Eric and I got ice cream and the kids got to pick out a treat. They all got a phone that had a sucker. I also got some soda there. It was a pretty good day.

Dinosaur Park, Pioneer Day

Today was Pioneer day. It was a a little rough for me and the kids. I don't know why. We were just on one I guess. Luckily, they are forgiving. 

We went to the Dinosaur Park for a little bit. They did ok. It wasn't as fun as it normally was. Owen did get pretty close to a duck. This time I had the kids pick a random number and then they had to find the corresponding dinosaur.

After dinner we did a little bit of fireworks outside. We did sparklers and pop-its and the army guys with parachutes. The kids liked those. The fireworks were pretty much the highlight of the day.
