Haircuts for the Kids

Today I had all of the kids get a haircut. The boys were kind of spur of the moment. While I took them I had Emma stay home and watch a movie. She did good and so did the boys. Conner just talked and Owen did pretty good. He didn't cry and he only moved around a little bit.

Emma's haircut was later at our usual spot. She had been saying she wanted her hair short so we looked at different hairstyles and she picked a short one. I was a little nervous because it would be such a big change. She wanted an A-line cut but I convinced her to be not as drastic, just a slight A-line so the maintenance would be minimal. It actually turned out really cute and she looks so different. She loved it too.

Dark Party

Tonight we finally had our dark party. Emma was supposed to have one in her class, but didn't get to have it because of the shutdown. So instead, we had one here. I bought a cheap projector so we could watch a movie downstairs and we had pizza down there too. After dinner and the movie, I busted out the glow sticks and let the kids go to town. Owen just liked when I would throw them around and he'd gather them. Conner and Emma liked putting them together and spinning them. It turned out pretty fun and the kids had a good time.

C&E First Soccer Game

Today was Conner and Emma's first soccer game of the season. Emma's was first. She actually did really good. She ran the whole time and even kicked it a bunch. She would even get into the scrum, not super aggressive, but better than before. Conner was next, I wasn't there for that one but Eric said he did pretty good.

Eric's Birthday

Today was Eric's birthday. We didn't do a whole lot. We went and ate dinner at Tucano's at the Gateway. We didn't realize that we had to make reservations so we had to wait an hour-ish before we could eat so we just hung out around the mall until our reservation. The food was pretty good. Conner actually ate and tried a decent amount of food. Emma, of course, didn't really eat much. So we basically paid $10 for a Sprite. Owen did about the same as Emma.

After dinner we came home. I had made a mint chocolate chip cake. It was pretty good.

Nick Rimando

Emma got to spend got to spend a couple days at my parents' just by herself. Today, my mom, Emily, and Emma came down. Emily was trying ot earn money so we had her clean our house. So Em and my mom deep cleaned our kitchen. It was pretty nice. They also cleaned other parts of the house. In the evening Eric and I were able to go down to Layton to RC Willey to "meet" Nick Rimando. I was pretty excited. I was expecting the line to be super long but it wasn't too bad. We didn't really get to shake his hand but we still got to get his autograph on a picture and my RSL hat. And we got to take a picture with him too, with a table in between us. Weird, but still cool. After we met him, we walked around and looked at recliners. We ended up getting a gray one, but the bad thing is is that it won't come in until late November. After that, we got dinner for everyone from Chik-fil-A. Once we got home, we chilled the rest of the night and watched a movie.

Idaho

This weekend we went up to Idaho for a family dinner. We all just hung out and talked. Emily also got her mission plaque. While we were there me and my siblings finally divided up my mom's tapa cloth from when they got married. We stayed the night last night so we didn't have to leave so early like we usually do which was nice.

Water Party at the Green's

Today we went down to my friend's house for a party with our regular camping group. We all shared the cost and rented a blow-up water slide. There were a lot of kids there. We got there about lunch time and our kids had Uncrustables, chips and applesauce. Owen mostly ate cheese balls. Everyone also brought snacks to share. The adults mostly just sat around chatting. The kids had a lot of fun playing in the water. Right before they were going to deflate the toy, most of the moms went down the slide a couple of times. We also ordered a bunch of pizzas for dinner. It was a fun day/activity.

Once we got home, we saw that our neighbors had an inflatable slide. Emma was excited about that and showed me. Our neighbor came over and asked if we wanted cake so we said yes. When we went over they hadn't sang Happy Birthday yet so the cake wasn't cut. Then she asked if we wanted some tacos. YES! They were so good! Eventually they sang Happy Birthday and they cut the cake. The slices of cake were HUGE! There was a bunch of other people there. Owen didn't go on the slide, he just said hi to everyone. Emma did a couple of times, then she was done. She was getting cold so our neighbor got Emma a towel and robe to wear. Conner had already taken a bath so he went back home to get into his swim stuff. He went down a bunch of times and also got a towel from her.
