Camping with the Stevensons

This weekend we went camping up in Idaho with some of Eric's family at Grayback Gulch. It's about 30 minutes northeast of Boise. It was a little over 5 hours there from our house.

 

Friday

We left late morning to get there. The van was being kind of wonky on the way up. It was getting hot and the AC wasn't working so we had to make a couple of stops to get coolant and a thermostat. We eventually got to the campsite after 5. Eric's sister and her daughter were the only ones there, everyone else was boating. So we got all set up. The campsite was pretty big and nice. I liked it because it was paved under the tables and around the site. There were a bunch of spots for a tent and we got a pretty good one. There were a lot of little kids for Conner, Emma, and Owen to play with which was nice. There were a bunch of hammocks set up too that Conner and Emma  liked chilling in. After dinner we hung out by the fire and then put the kids to bed. I stayed in the tent with them. Owen was a little fussy, but eventually he fell asleep.

Saturday

Today was a fun day. After we all got up, we ate breakfast. We all just hung out for a bit (Jake and Michelle brought a bunch of toys: bats, baseballs, badminton stuff, etc.). Jake even helped teach Conner hoe to catch and hit baseballs. Then we went to Idaho City and played baseball. There wasn't any teams, just people rotating positions and batting.

After we were done there, we went and got some ice cream at a little shop. It was pretty good.

After ice cream we came back to camp and got ready to go boating. We went to Lucky Peak. It was really pretty there. Almost our whole group went. We all loaded up in the boat and headed to a beach to drop most of the people off to play and then we headed out to go tubing. Conner and Emma stayed at the beach while Eric, me, and Owen stayed on the boat. After a while we came back to the beach to take turns. I got off with Owen and some other kids while Eric stayed on and Conner and Emma got to go tubing. I think they had fun.

After they were done, we dropped off some people to go back to camp and the rest of us got on the boat. I went on the tube with Owen. He had a lot of fun until he got a face full of water and then he was done. It was fun going on the tube. When Owen was tubing  the other kids were so cute (there were 2 tubes). They kept telling Owen he was doing a good job.

After we were all done tubing Eric, Jake, and one of the boys wake-boarded for a bit and then Eric got to try wake-surfing. He did pretty good.

We didn't get off the lake until after 9pm! And we didn't get back to camp until after 10pm! Once we got back we changed and didn't have dinner until almost 11! After dinner we put the kids to bed and then I stayed with them and Eric stayed by the fire. It was a long but fun day. Owen slept pretty good too. No fussing.

Sunday

Today we got up and had a little breakfast of donuts and carnation. We didn't really do much today. We packed up and headed on our way home. The drive home was uneventful, which was nice. We got back after 6pm.
