Memorial Day

We didn't go camping this year. I just wasn't into it. We didn't do a whole lot this weekend, just took it east, which is nice. We got some shave ice at Hokulia's on Saturday. So good.

Last night  we had our first fire of the year. The kids were pretty excited about it. We had s'mores, Emma even had 3! Owen got his all over his face and got so sticky. It was so funny. Conner just had a mug treat since he didn't want s'mores. It was fun just sitting around by the fire.

Today we just did yard work. We made/had some yummy burgers and had root beer floats. It was a good weekend.

Conner and Emma's Last Day of School

Today was Conner and Emma's last day of school. They are done with 4th grade. So crazy. This year has gone better, in some ways, than expected. I was expecting school to shut down at some point, but surprisingly it never did. We had some moments with the kids at school, but overall it was a good year. 

Once I woke the kids up and they got ready, I took all of their pictures. It's crazy how much they've grown and how much older they look vs at the beginning of the year. The kids had a good day at their field day at school. They got to play a lot of games and get wet. It was bittersweet for both of them, the last day of school. They'll miss their teachers and friends.

Owen's Last Day of School

Today was Owen's second last day of preschool at Heidi's. They had a water party there. They got to play in the sprinklers and play with water guns. He was soaked when I came to get him. I think he had a lot of fun today. He learned a lot at that preschool, he just doesn't like to perform if he doesn't want to.

Idaho

This weekend we went up to Idaho. We hadn't all gotten together since mid-January. After church I took a nap and Eric took the kids to visit his parents and so Emma could see the new baby kittens. She was pretty excited about them.

 

Once everyone came back and my siblings and their families came, we got stuff ready for dinner. We had a taco bar and everyone brought stuff. My whole family was there. It was good to see all of them at once. We all just hung out and ate. The kids played outside a bunch. It was nice to see them get along and have fun with each other. We didn't get to stay as long because the kids have school tomorrow.

Bookworm Explorer's Graduation

Today was Owen's second graduation. The graduation was outside at my friend's parents' house. They had paper graduation caps that they colored. Owen's was measured too small so it ripped a few times. He also did not want to sit up front with the other kids. He was throwing a fit! Luckily, he wasn't the only one acting up. They did a couple of songs: Counting to 20, ABC's, days of the week, and months of the year. He actually did some of the actions to the ABC's. They signed the letter and then a word that started with that letter. It was cute to watch.

After all of their songs, they were given their certificates and then they had treats. Owen was pretty stoked about that. He was eating a cookie and a cupcake at the same time. He got so messy.
