Seeing 'Aulani Again

We went and visited'Aulani really quick again because I forgot to take a picture of her spot (which I pretty much always do). It was bugging me that I forgot so we went again. Emma wrote another sweet note to 'Aulani. We didn't stay too long. 

Visit 'Aulani

Today we went to visit 'Aulani. We never sang to her on the kids' birthday so we went today. Emma wrote her a super sweet note and then we sang Happy Birthday. The lighter was dead but I was able to light the rest, but they kept going out so they were never all lit at the same time. Oh well. So we sang anyways. It was a nice day outside too, which was nice. Emma had a hard time there. She didn't want to leave. It was kind of sad. It's always bittersweet.

Conner's and Emma's 9th Birthday

Today the kids turned 9!!!!

Working on 'Aulani's cake

 

Last night, while I was trying to finish crocheting Emma's blanket, Eric blew up a bunch of balloons. Since Conner and Emma were sleeping on the couches downstairs we couldn't put the balloons on their door like we have done in the past. So instead, I made an arch/wall on the stairs and then piled the rest of them at the bottom of the stairs, like a ball pit. 

They were pretty excited about it

After they got all ready we went to the school and got the grab-n-go meals and then came back and ate. I finished their cakes while they played. 

Emma's was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. I also made blue "ice" shards out of sugar. And obviously, Anna and Elsa were on it.

'Aulani's was a white cake (6 layers, pink ombre) with a marbled fondant. I also got these cool flower molds and used candy melts.

Conner's was a brownie with chocolate buttercream frosting on it with Marvel characters on it.

And all 3 of their cakes!

I also finally finished her blanket!!!!!

For dinner Emma wanted IHOP so me, her, and Owen got dinner there. Conner wanted Burger King so Eric and Conner got dinner there. We sang Happy Birthday to each of them, 'Aulani's we'll do later.

Then they got to open presents!!
