Emma's First Hospital Stay

This is Emma's first hospital stay, not counting the 3 times she went back right after she came home from the NICU. She was getting sick and not eating very much so we took her to the Doctor and they thought she might have pneumonia so they wanted to admit her. They ended up doing a chest x-ray and blood work and later found out that it wasn't pneumonia but RSV. It wasn't too bad in the hospital. She had to get breathing treatments a few times but then they stopped when they found out it was just RSV. She was also on O2 during the day which wasn't anything new to us. We only had to stay there 2 nights so it wasn't too bad.

This is the first day. We/she had a lot of string cheese, brownies, bread, and french fries, as you can tell in the second picture

Emma and I watching a movie

She also got to have a bath in the tub. I felt bad because we had to tape up her arm so her I.V. wouldn't get wet. But it was better than nothing.

By morning of the next day she was laying sideways in her bed

Watching a movie and eating her bottle

In a little bag of activities that the hospital gave her there was a thing of play-dough and she just used it to put her crayons in instead

The bag was a Cat in the Hat bag and it had sparkly heart stickers in it that she thought it was fun to stick on the bag

Later that day we were able to go for a little walk out in the lobby because she was finally unhooked from her I.V. but she had to wear a mask because she was considered contagious.

She was really tired towards the end of the night since she didn't get to take a very good nap so she fell asleep while eating her bottle. She wouldn't let me take it out so I had to prop it up with my foot.

The next day, she decided she wanted to get up early and watch Monster's University (which we watched a TON while we were there) and eat some string cheese.

Then she got to play with some puzzles

About midday we got to go home!! She'll have to be on oxygen when she comes home but it's not like we're not used to it already.

Decemberness

Here are some things that have happened in December

Conner still ends up on the floor

Emma being a silly girl

Still on the floor

We decided to take the kids outside and go for a short little winter walk

Eric and I did a babysitting swap with our friends so we could watch the second Hunger Games movie. I brought donuts and a bagel and cream cheese for our movie snack.

It got super cold one day

Emma likes her noodles

Here's the kids playing when they were supposed to be taking a nap

Funny little Emma starting to jump

The kids tumbling. It was pretty funny

The kids running thinking they were pretty funny

On the floor again

She is a pooped little girl

Checking out the snow falling outside

I was almost done shoveling the sidewalk when the snowplow came by and made these huge snow boulders. After I tried to shovel them away I decided to just wait until Eric came home and let him do it.

I made a fort out of cardboard boxes for the kids

Both on the floor under their beds

Emma will still play in the tub even when there is no water

Emma is actually wearing 3T clothes!

Wearing a belt over her pjs

Wearing matching jammies, with matching messy hair, watching a show

This day Conner was feeling pretty crappy and he looked so sad, so Eric held him and sang songs to him so he would just relax.

Emma hanging out by herself

When I went to spy on the kids under the door I saw Conner sitting in Emma's bed and then when I opened the door I saw that she was sleeping on it too. I wish I would have gotten a picture of him sitting by her. He loves her so much I think

New Year's Eve

Tia and her family were able to come down and stay with us for New Year's Eve. We were going to go to Temple Square and see the lights with them but the kids were kind of sick so we didn't want to take them so they went without us. After they came back we did some little fireworks outside.
